The cockatoos have made it to their main lair, or headquarters. This is where things get really rowdy. These huge gum trees are almost stripped bare. They hide in the dark that comes at dusk. The light through the silhouetted trees. I can’t see them but I can hear them. They are so loud here. There is space for them to yell to their hearts content. They are like a gang of punks, delinquents, bullies, rebels. They sit in these trees and go off. You can hear the high pitched sound that they make earlier in the day when their not completely inebriated being overcome with intense noise, like metallic noise. Like noise through a high pass filter turned on full. I love it. I feel like I’ve found my crew just sitting in the grass staring up at the darkening trees. Bring it on.
