Christ With Me

I come in the space, dressed as a carpenter. I carry a toolbox and some wooden beams. I put my load on the ground and start building a cross, while speaking about my religious education and my job as an architect, building wooden houses in the alps. In some stories, Jesus is told to have been a carpenter before he started preaching and my name, Cyril, comes from Greek Kurilos, which means little Lord. I explain, that if I had had the possibility, I would like to tell Jesus some complaints, or ask him some questions, but since I’m not a believer, I dont have this possibility. Then I undress and get on the cross in underwear, while the song Christ with me of Arvo Pärt plays. From this moment on, I embody Jesus Christ. The audience is invited to come and interact with me, I answer as Jesus on the cross.
