The title is taken from a poem by Barthold Heinrich Brockes which Georg Friedrich Händel made a musical score for. The text fragment emphasizes the impossibility of grasping the ephemeral. In the musical adaptation, the aria celebrates the desire to participate in the ephemera. Capturing and archiving on the one hand and acting and participating on the other form the tension field of this lecture. A wide historical curve is outlined in order to reveal how old knowledge finds its way into our time and calls for a nuanced revival and revitalisation.
Der Titel stammt aus einem Gedicht von Barthold Heinrich Brockes, das Georg Friedrich Händel vertont hat. Das Textfragment betont die Unmöglichkeit, das Ephemere zu fassen. In der musikalischen Umsetzung feiert die Arie die Lust, am Flüchtigen teilzuhaben. Festhalten und Archivieren einerseits und Tun, Partizipieren andererseits bilden das Spannungsfeld des Vortrages. Dabei wird ein weiter historischer Bogen aufgespannt um zu zeigen, wie altes abgelegtes Wissen in unsere Zeit hineinragt und zur nuancierten Wieder- und Neubelebung einlädt.
