DESIGN EXPLORATION BY PARAMETRIC TOOLS. a new creative process

This paper explores the use of digital tools in the design process by detaching the practice from a specific discipline. Therefore, this study integrates parametric design into the process of creation by using the digital tools of the McNeel Group. These tools are algorithmically based and define a sequence of dependencies to create a variety of drafts, which are based on the same logic and will be represented in a selection of artefacts. This produces a new creative process in which the work of the designer, in the definition of a system and the design, is split.
